About
Welcome
We are so glad you're here! One of our highest priorities at FBC Stoneham is for visitors to feel a strong sense of welcome. For some people, going to a new church can be intimidating, but come just as you are. We invite you to join us for Sunday morning worship.
Our Leadership

Calvin W. Fergins, Jr.
Senior PastorI’m originally from the DC metro area. Lindsey, a professional counselor from Ohio, is not just my wife but also my best friend and counterbalance. Together we are raising our two strong-willed daughters, Emmaline and Lucy. Though challenging at times, our girls have brought a lot of joy into our lives. Before becoming a family man, I served as a short term missionary in Northern Ireland and Serbia and went on to earn a Master of Divinity degree.
My greatest passion is to make the Bible as accessible, understandable, and applicable as possible. Providing pastoral care and pursuing social justice (especially racial & immigration justice) are also close to my heart. I believe in the inerrancy & infallibility of Scripture and utilize an expository preaching method. My core theology is that salvation is by Grace Alone through Faith Alone in Christ Alone as detailed in Scripture Alone for the Glory of God Alone.
When not pastoring or spending time with my family, I enjoy reading Black history (especially the Civil Rights and Black Power eras) along with other race related topics, playing video games, watching documentaries as well as comedies, and looking for more books to read.
This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them. - 1 Timothy 1:15

What Brings Us Together?
We're people who have experienced God's love, and want to share it with each other and our neighbors.
This love is anchored in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We look to God's Word revealed to us in the Bible, which we hold as the standard for our lives.
We try to live in harmony with each other. To paraphrase a well used Christian maxim: In essentials we are united, in non-essentials we exercise liberty, and in all things we practice charity.
